Piano & specialty

Piano Movers for Uprights, Grands and Heavy Specialty Items

A piano is not a heavy piece of furniture — it is a strung instrument on castors that can destroy a doorway and a back at the same time. Our specialty crews are trained and equipped for uprights, baby grands, safes and pool tables, and every job starts with a site check.

What's included with piano movers

Site survey first

We check doorway widths, stair turns, thresholds and driveway gradients before the day so nothing is discovered mid-lift.

Correct equipment

Uprights travel on a piano board strapped upright; grands are dismantled onto a skid board with legs and lyre wrapped separately.

Protection at both ends

Runners, corner guards and door jamb protection go in first. Castors are cupped so they never bite the floor.

Placement and setup

We place the instrument where you want it, refit legs and pedals, and recommend leaving two weeks before tuning.

Piano Movers FAQs

How much does it cost to move a piano in Auckland?

Upright pianos on ground-floor access typically start at $390. Grands, stairs and difficult access are quoted individually after photos or a survey.

Can you move a piano up or down stairs?

Yes. Stair moves need the right crew size and rigging, so we always survey the access first and price it in.

Will my piano need tuning after the move?

Almost always. Let the instrument settle in its new room for two to three weeks, then book a tuner.

Do I need to pay a deposit to book?

No. There is no deposit and no obligation — you pay after the move, not before.
